Join us in welcoming Nancy Johnston as our May 2016 guest speaker

Nancy is a graduate of Fanshawe College with a Diploma in Fashion Design and Textiles.

An international award winning quilter, lecturer and designer, she has traveled with her quilts to many shows throughout Canada and the US.

"I have taught long-arm/mid -arm track system quilting and fibre art internationally but it was time to find home and turn boxes of sketches and notes into finished pieces.  I live in an area that has so much natural beauty that I will never run out of inspiration.

To say that my work is eclectic would be an understatement.  Exploring textiles and how they can be manipulated is a passion.  Thread is the ink in my pen, layers of fabric, fibres and batting are my canvas, fabric paints and markers are just the cherry on top as I transition from quilter to full time fibre artist, viewing life, surroundings and textiles through different eyes".
